Privacy Policy

LoneForgeDev is a one-person game studio. This policy covers this website and our game, Low Sun. The short version: what you see is what there is. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, on the site or in the game.

Part 1 · This website

What we collect

Nothing directly. This site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or fingerprinting, and it does not ask you for any personal information. The fonts and images are served from this site itself, not from third-party services.

Server logs

Like almost every website, the server that hosts this site may automatically record basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. These logs are kept by the hosting provider for security and to keep the site running. We do not use them to identify you, build profiles or sell anything.

Contacting us

If you write to us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply to you, and we do not share it or add you to any mailing list. You can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.

Links and embedded content

This site links to other services, such as X, GitHub and Steam. Once you follow a link you are on their site and under their privacy policy, not this one. If a page shows an embedded video, it is loaded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube handles that data under its own policy.

Part 2 · Low Sun, the game

No accounts, no telemetry

Low Sun does not ask you to create an account, shows no ads and contains no analytics or telemetry. The game does not send information about how you play to us, and we do not run any servers that it talks to.

Saved games and progress

Your saved games, campaign progress, unlocks and settings are stored on your own computer, in the game’s data folder. If you play the Steam version, your profile is also synced through Steam Cloud so it follows you to other computers. That copy lives in your Steam account and is handled by Valve.

Steam

The Steam version uses Steamworks, Valve’s platform services. Through it the game can read your Steam display name, record stats and achievements, create and join online lobbies, and show your friends that you are in a lobby they can join. Valve processes this data under theSteam Privacy Policy. As a developer we can only see the aggregated, anonymous figures Steam provides, such as how many players have unlocked an achievement.

Online play

Online matches connect players to each other, not to us. Over Steam, the connection goes through Steam’s network. With a direct connection, the game connects your computer straight to the other player’s over an encrypted link, and may ask your router (UPnP) to open a port for it.

During a match the players exchange only what the match needs: your display name, which commanders and colours you have unlocked, and your moves. A direct-connection invite code contains your public IP address, so share it only with people you want to play with.

Crash reports and feedback

If the game crashes, it shows a report on screen: game version and build, operating system, language, the screen you were on, the time and the technical error. Nothing is sent automatically. The report only leaves your computer if you choose to copy it or send it by email, and in that case your own email app opens so you can read it before sending. We use these reports, and any feedback you send tofernando.herrera.apps+low-sun@gmail.com, only to fix problems and improve the game.

Part 3 · Both

Children

Neither this site nor Low Sun is directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it or to have it deleted. Since we do not collect personal data through this site or the game, in practice this applies to emails and crash reports you have sent us. Data held by Steam is managed from your Steam account. Write to us and we will take care of the rest.

Changes to this policy

If the site or the game changes how it handles information, for example by adding a newsletter, analytics or a new online feature, this page will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
